Album Review by Laura MacDonald

Eight of the songs on the album are brand new, and provide the listener with a glimpse of what Andy and Ariana have been up to in the past year. For one, they’ve got a woodstove, immortalized in the first track; ‘The Woodstove’ riffs on an extended metaphor of their fire-powered house as a ship, and has a wickedly dark sound, like a mischief-ridden secret. Pretty Ditties Album Review: Seeking Commotion – Andy & Ariana

Posted on October 2, 2010 by in Cover Articles

If Andy and Ariana were a cheese, they’d be a cheddar, aged, with something like cardamom or caraway mixed in—you see them everywhere, everybody likes them, they go well with everything, yet there is something of the exotic in there, and a pervading sense of fine craftsmanship. When they’re not appreciating fancy cheeses, these kingpins of the Wolfville music scene have been gearing up to release eleven sensual new tracks on their forthcoming album, Seeking Commotion, at a concert extravaganza on October 16th. “There beside her stood Andy, a jester, irony permanently implanted on his face, simultaneously singing backup, playing guitar, and drumming (he plays the drums backwards, his feet working the pedals as his body sways in a canny, weaving two-step).” Continue reading Music East: Mad Geniuses of the New Millennium

About | The Grapevine

Source: About | The Grapevine

“…Change, as in most things, is inevitable and the Grapevine saw it’s first major shakeup in August of 2007. This is when Andy Flinn & Ariana Nasr (the band formally known as t@b) took over the reins. This duo put their stamp on things by increasing the scope and perspective of the local music scene. In fact, although they may downplay their accomplishments, they can truly be accredited for furthering and promoting the remarkable music scene in the Annapolis Valley and the Nova Scotia community. Fortunately Wolfville just happens to receive the benefit brunt of their efforts…” (Jeremy Novak)
